August 2nd – We are proud to announce that six young students have successfully completed their S1 certification after a rigorous four-week training program. These dedicated individuals have mastered the operation and technical aspects of running a biochar site, including taking precise technical readings, identifying and repairing faults, and ensuring continuous production.
This training has empowered them to bring biochar production to their local community, a move welcomed with enthusiasm but also met with challenges, particularly in understanding and adopting biochar technology. Their successful completion of the S1 course marks a significant step towards rejuvenating local farmlands with biochar.
Throughout the program, the students learned to collaborate effectively, dividing roles and responsibilities to ensure smooth operations without overburdening any single individual. Their teamwork and dedication have set a solid foundation for the future of biochar in their community.
Building on this achievement, the six students, along with a new participant, have commenced their S2 training. This advanced five-week course will equip them with the skills to dynamically adapt the biochar process during burns, optimizing output and further enhancing their expertise.
We commend these young pioneers for their hard work and commitment to sustainable practices and look forward to their continued success in the biochar field.
